Shannon Trani Fredericks

I have been an educator since I was 7 years old. I used to invite all of the neighborhood kids to come to my backyard playhouse with their homework, and of course I was their “teacher.” And so it began.

After high school I was called to manage my family’s restaurant business, developing valuable life skills such as customer relations, strict budgeting, and strong work ethic. After 8 years, I returned to my dream of being a teacher. I received a BA from CSU Dominguez Hills and my Teaching Credential from CSU Channel Islands. I later went on to receive my MA in Educational Leadership and Administrative Credential through CSU Northridge.

I have worked within the field of education as an instructional aide at a dual immersion school in Long Beach Unified (bilingual French), a substitute teacher in Ventura County, and finally an elementary school teacher for the last 24 years in Hueneme Elementary School District.

My husband Rob and I have been married 19 years this December. We have two children who have both been enrolled in VUSD schools since TK/Kinder. Jack is a Junior at Buena High School and Lauren is in 8th grade at De Anza Academy of Technology and the Arts. We also have two rescue mutts, Maisy and LuLu.
